Alan S. Curtis, MD

Dr. Alan Curtis is board-certified Orthopedic Surgeon at New England Baptist Hospital, specializing in arthroscopic shoulder surgery. He is a Clinical Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Tufts University and serves as Medical Director of the New England Baptist Hospital Bioskills Center. He serves as a board member for the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA) and is a member of the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons (ASES), American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), New England Orthopedic Society (NEOS), New England Shoulder and Elbow Society (NESES), Massachusetts Medical Society (MMS), and the American Medical Association (AMA).

Dr Curtis’s clinical and research interests lie in sports medicine and disorders of the shoulder, particularly rotator cuff repairs. He is a Team Physician for the Boston Celtics and is the founder and chairman of the annual Boston Sports Medicine Symposium. Dr Curtis has published over 20 peer-reviewed papers and book chapters, and instructed over countless courses and lectures.
