Kiet Le, PA-CResearch Foundation Manager

Kiet Le is the Physician Assistant to Dr. Andrew Jawa as well as the BSSC Research Foundation Manager. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training/Sports Medicine at Quinnipiac University and a Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies at Albany Medical College. Prior to joining Boston Sports & Shoulder Center, Kiet worked as an orthopaedic physician assistant at Newton-Wellesley Sports Medicine and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Kiet’s research interests include osteoarthritis and reverse shoulder arthroplasty. More specific Kiet is interested in RSA outcomes in younger patients. As the BSSC RF Manager, Kiet is responsible for managing research funding, building institutional frameworks, and designing fundraising initiatives.

Evan Glass, BSResearch Foundation Supervisor

Evan is the BSSC Research Foundation Supervisor and research assistant for Dr. Andrew Jawa and Dr. Jacob Kirsch. He began his career at BSSC as a medical assistant in 2020. After graduating from Brandeis University with a BS in biology in 2022, he transitioned to be the research assistant for Dr. Andrew Jawa. As a researcher, he has worked with the ASES Complications of Reverse Shoulder Arthroplasty Research Group, contributed to multiple publications, created many posters for professional conferences, and maintained IRB approval for over 30 studies. As the BSSC RF Supervisor, Evan is responsible for streamlining research, building institutional frameworks, and supervising 40+ research projects.

Adam Bowler, BA
Adam Bowler, BA Research Assistant

Adam is a research assistant with the BSSC RF who works closely with Dr. Jawa and Dr. Kirsch. He is a pre-medical student that graduated from Wesleyan University in May 2023 with a Bachelor's degree in Biology and Neuroscience & Behavior. Adam coordinates research studies for Dr. Jawa and Dr. Kirsch by maintaining the surgical outcome registries, facilitating data curation, drafting institutional review board proposals, performing statistical analysis, and writing manuscripts.

Nick Veale, BS, MS Research Assistant

Nick Veale is a research assistant and medical assistant with the BSSC RF. He graduated from Wake Forest University in 2021 with a BS in Biology and Georgetown University in 2022 with a MS in Physiology and Biophysics. He works primarily as the research assistant for Dr. Kurt Hofmann and Dr. Mark Slovenkai. Nick’s work as the RA to Dr. Hofmann and Dr. Slovenkai includes maintaining his database on PatientIQ, data curation, tracking patient outcomes, and drafting institutional review board proposals regarding surgical technique in total ankle replacements.

Zoe Koechling
Zoe Koechling, BS Research Assistant

Zoe is a medical assistant and clinical research assistant with the BSSC RF. She graduated from Clemson University Honors College in May 2022 as a pre-medical student with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology before joining BSSC in a clinical capacity and later becoming involved in research. Zoe works closely with the BSSC Hip Preservation Team led by Dr. Wuerz. She maintains a prospective surgical outcomes registry for patients undergoing hip arthroscopy, with data being contributed to the Multicenter Arthroscopic Study of the Hip (MASH), as well as coordinating his numerous studies and carrying out preoperative teachings with all of Dr. Wuerz’s surgical patients.

Isabelle “Bella” Bote, BA Research Assistant

Bella is a medical assistant and clinical research assistant with the BSSC RF. She graduated from Hamilton College in May 2022 as a pre-medical student with a Bachelor’s degree in art history and a minor in chemistry before joining BSSC in a clinical capacity and later becoming involved in research. She works closely with Dr. Miller, an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine and proximal hamstring repairs. Bella maintains Dr. Miller’s proximal hamstring repair outcomes registry, coordinates her numerous studies, and works alongside Dr. Miller in clinic
